Smart Building Technologies
SMART THERMOSTATS

ENERGY STAR APPLIANCES
We prioritize EPA-certified Energy Star Appliances throughout our communities. These devices meet rigorous efficiency standards, reducing both environmental impact and utility costs.
LED LIGHTS
Most people know that LED lights are often better than incandescent bulbs, but not everyone knows why. Veris chooses to use LED lights due to their incredible energy efficiency, wasting little to no electricity for sustained use. We use ENERGY STAR-certified brands, which usually boast lifespans up to 25 times longer than incandescent bulbs, using 75% less energy.
AQUA MIZER®
Did you know that the EPA believes that toilets are responsible for 85% of the water waste in the entire world? A leaking toilet can waste 200 gallons of water in a single day, and a running toilet can waste up to 700 gallons. It’s estimated that 20% of the toilets in the world are currently doing one of the two.
To help mitigate this, Veris installs Aqua Mizer® flushers in its communities. The system can reduce water usage by 52% as well as leaks, preventing water waste and helping us to save on the water bill!
HYDROPANELS

Energy Innovation at Haus25
Our newest development, Haus25, is home to a number of unique sustainable technologies and has piloted new innovations for the rest of our communities.
- Regenerative Elevator Drives– Our innovative elevator system captures kinetic energy from descent and deceleration, converting it into usable electricity for the building or power grid.
- CHP – These efficient units generate both electrical and thermal energy, with recovered waste heat used for electricity generation and water heating.
